If you are planning to visit Agra and take in the splendor of the Taj Mahal, it is best you start from Delhi early. You can hire a taxi or drive your own vehicle via the Yamuna Expressway (NH44). The distance between the two cities is about 206 kilometers and takes about 3 hours to cover.

The best time to plan a trip is between October to March as the weather is clear and pleasant during these months. Try to avoid foggy days and do not plan a trip on a Friday as the Taj Mahal remains closed to visitors on Fridays.

Ideally, you should start from Delhi by 5 A.M and reach Agra by 8 A.M. You can arrive at the hotel, check-in, freshen up and head straight to the Taj Mahal. Mornings are the best time to visit this iconic monument as it is much less crowded and you get to spend more time admiring its beauty inside and out.
